Chris SelwoodChris Selwood has been investing in property in Northern Ireland, Great Britain and abroad for over 10 years.
He is a full time investor as well as the owner of Mid Antrim Properties, a partner in NI Property Partners and the founder and co-host of The Belfast Property Meet. Along with his wife Mary he started investing in property in early 2005 in his home town of Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Before too long property prices has risen so fast that investing at home became unviable. They then turned to the North East and North West of England where yield and return on cash invested was still quite good. Then disaster struck in the form of "The Property Crash". With banks asking for bigger deposits and tightening their lending criteria something needed to give. Chris & Mary invested "thousands of pounds in their Financial & Property Education". They attended an series of workshops in London which had a massive impact on the investment strategies that they started to use. They stopped investing for capital growth as they could see that this is what caused the crash. They focused on buying below market value property, adding value to it, then selling it for profit or refinancing to get back their investment while still have cash flow each month after all costs. They also focus on Joint Ventures with other investors who have funds but no time nor creative finance skills. This has proved very successful with numerous investors getting investing sums of money, getting it all back within 6-8 months plus cash back and still retaining a cash-flowing equity position within the property. Chris & Mary put their investing success down to the following; Joint Venture Projects Investing for cash flow and not capital gains Taking Action Adopting a Can Do attitude and not giving up. Chris & Mary share their knowledge with other investors through regular monthly meetings at Belfast Property Meet. If you're thinking of investing in property to supplement your income, build a pension or even quit your job altogether then get in contact with Chris or Mary through Belfast Property Meet's "CONTACT US" page. They continue to build their portfolio primarily in Northern Ireland but also in other countries.
